Should be hand
fed to mares (non-lactating, early gestation), and maintenance horses
(light activity) at 1.5 to 2 lbs per 100 lbs of body weight.
Gradually change feed over a 7 to 10 day period. Salt and mineral
may be offered free choice. Provide animals access to plenty of
fresh, clean drinking water at all times, except hot, tired horses.
Adjust feeding level to maintain desired body condition. If horses
are offered more than 4 lbs of feed per day, feed should be divided into
two equal portions and fed twice per day. Do not feed moldy or
insect infested feeds to animals. |
